Frequently Asked Questions

How many days are needed to enjoy the stay?

We recommend a stay of 4 to 5 nights; our minimum for reservations is 3 nights – the minimum period necessary to immerse in the Pantanal atmosphere and capture its true spirit. If you have more time, consider an itinerant trip, combining two or more Pantanal ecolodges. Talk to us; we can help you organize your itinerary.

When is the best time to enjoy the Pantanal?

The water level is generally low, concentrating animals in certain areas from June to October. During the flood, from November to May, animals tend to be distributed over large areas, creating a lush landscape. This is when the Salobra River presents crystal clear waters, perfect for snorkeling. Every season is unique and different, and the ecolodge offers tours adapted for each season.

What to take?

2. Backpacks: Useful for trips, holding repellent, water bottle, camera cap, bird guide, sunscreen, etc.
3. Flashlight: Handy for night walks, observing caimans, insects, and arachnids.
4. Clothing: Light, neutral-colored clothes for the day.
5. Swimwear: Needed for the Salobra River.
6. Jacket: For the cold dawn (April to August).
7. Footwear: Hiking shoes are preferable.
8. Pants: Long pants for horse riding, hiking, or sun protection.
9. Raincoat: Essential for unexpected weather changes.
10. Hat or Cap: Protection from the sun.
11. Video or Photographic Equipment: You’ll have plenty of chances to put them to good use!

How are the tours carried out?

Tours are generally conducted early in the morning and afternoon, lasting 3 to 5 hours in groups of a maximum of 7 people. The guide is always attentive to fauna movement, aiming to enable visitors to observe biodiversity, enjoy the landscape, and feel the pulsating energy of the Pantanal.

Which animals can be observed on the tours?

The Pantanal is the world’s largest floodplain. It houses the largest concentration of fauna in the Americas. The Pantanal Biome is directly responsible for Brazilian biomes holding the greatest biodiversity on the planet. Lodge tours have observed over 39 mammal species, including the majestic jaguar and puma, more than 340 bird species, 2 caiman species, and a multitude of other Pantanal flora and fauna. Caimans are easily found around the ecolodge. Capybara families together with capuchin and howler monkeys frequently visit the riparian forests. Giant otters are often spotted in the surrounding waters. During the dry season, anteaters roam the savannas and the chances of seeing jaguars increase significantly. Despite their elusive nature and difficulty in spotting, we record many sightings every year, especially from June to October.
